Under his leadership, Pelton has positioned The Boston Foundation as an agent for social change, by centering equity in its programs, grantmaking and civic leadership. The Foundation’s defining ambition is to achieve equity, which involves acknowledging and then seeking to eliminate the structural and underlying causes of outcome disparities for historically marginalized communities. He has been awarded three honorary degrees and is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for educational excellence and social justice, including, the Living Legend by the Museum of African American History (2021), the Governor’s Award from Mass Humanities (2020). At Rogerson, we enhance the well-being of older adults by elevating housing, community, and care to an art. With 2,000 housing units across 29 communities and programs—from Worcester to Weymouth, Jamaica Plain to Norton—Rogerson helps median and low-income older adults through all stages of aging. Hundreds of families in Massachusetts are facing heartbreaking life choices as the escalating costs of in-home care, assisted living communities, and nursing homes exhaust the savings and incomes of older adults and their relatives. This can happen to anyone, even after years of preparation. Life happens, and unexpected challenges occur when older adults struggle to obtain care and housing. Rogerson’s mission is a beacon of hope for families seeking safe, affordable housing, health care services, adult day programs and memory care support.

Your investment in Rogerson helps us realize our vision of a world where all older adults are valued and empowered to age with dignity within their community.
